Clifford Korman is founding partner, with Steven Kirshenblatt, of Kirkor Architects and Planners. Mr. Korman graduated from the University of Waterloo in 1976 where he was awarded the OAA Silver medal for Design Excellence. In 1979, he established Clifford Korman Architect as a sole practitioner, merging with Steven Kirshenblatt in 1980.

In his schematic design and planning work, Mr. Korman focuses on the creation of responsible, economically viable developments through smart growth strategies including urban intensification, public transportation and design innovation.

Mr. Korman uses his urban design expertise to provide clients with sustainable building solutions. He works one-on-one, directly with clients. His strength lies in his ability to incorporate client goals with directives from community consultation meetings, design charettes, Urban Design Review Panels, Committees of Adjustment and the Ontario Municipal Board. Further, Mr. Korman’s profound understanding of municipal planning processes and urban revitalization initiatives serve him well in consulting and governmental planning circles.

Skilled at promptly translating a site’s potential to sketch form, Mr. Korman pushes the limits while staying in the realm of ‘buildable architecture.’ Mr. Korman’s concepts have led to many successfully developed communities throughout Ontario and the world. His architectural strategies are now being recognized globally, as Kirkor’s client base expands through the U.S., China, the Caribbean and South Africa.
