| Limelight is a contemporary urban design solution fulfilling the Mississauga City Centre West Masterplan as envisioned by the Daniels Corporation. The animated play of solid and void at the rooftop is immersed in the glow of soft green light, contributing further to an evolving urban freshness to the architecture of downtown Mississauga. The frame system is introduced at the street level, anchoring this large project to its site with a dynamic, forest-like expression of structure. The roof-top frame is left more open atop the higher, northern tower. As night gives way to day, this structural lattice becomes a crowning silhouette of regular, yet diverse shapes, changing with each hour of the day and from where it is seen. The soft green glow returns again with evening, and the skyline is illuminated with this unique sense of place. The framing system, both regular through the podium framed by diverse branch like structure above and below, is the architectural depiction to the resonance of forest in its most urban form. |
