Bounded by the City of Vaughan, the City of Toronto and the Town of Markham this project is key to the principles of smart growth - location centred on existing transportation corridors and proposed subway extension routes, and the inclusion of a mixed-use facility; hotel, office, residential and retail. This scheme provides an internal publically accessible park and also a dedicated open park space to the neighborhood to the south. The buildings’ sleek curvilinear facades provide the focal point along the Yonge Street vista.
A mixture of private streets with public access, common public parks were addressed through negotiation and consultation with staff at the Town of Markham. The rapid transit iniative along the Yonge Street corridor also played a significant role in the potential and future setbacks, allowing for an enhanced sidewalk. |
